This is a Langstroth 10 frame beehive made of polystyrene and is manufactured by Lyson in Poland. When choosing your frame options, if you choose plastic we highly recommend extra beeswax on the frames. This increases the bees acceptance, and entices them to draw out comb faster. You can buy frames/foundation with extra wax or add your own beeswax.
This Lyson Increase Kit includes:
- Bottom board with varroa screen
- Mouse guard/entrance reducer/closure
- Two Unassembled Deep Hive Bodies with latches and screws
- 20 Deep Frames*
- Two Unassembled Medium Supers with latches and screws
- 20 Medium Frames*
- Queen Excluder*
- Cloth inner cover*
- Outer Cover with 8 polystyrene plugs and 8 plastic venting plugs
* Denotes a kit component with options.
Your hive comes unpainted but Betterbee recommends painting with an exterior grade latex paint.
Please note: the bottom board can be screwed to the box if the beekeeper prefers (screws not included).
