This Langstroth-style beehive is made of polystyrene and manufactured by Lyson in Poland. This 10 frame hive comes unassembled but includes all the hardware and directions you need to easily assemble it. This kit includes all of the components you need to start a colony quickly.
The Lyson Essentials Kit includes:
- Outer cover with 8 polystyrene plugs and 8 plastic venting plugs
- Inner cover
- Two unassembled deep hive bodies with latches and screws
- 20 deep frames
- Bottom board varroa screen.
- Mouse guard/entrance reducer/closure
When choosing frames, plastic frames do not require assembly. Wooden frames require assembly and all hardware is included.
A choice of inner cover is also availabe
Directions for assembly are included in this kit.
Your hive comes unpainted but Betterbee recommends painting with an exterior grade latex paint.
Please note: The LYSON bottom board can be screwed to the bottom hive body if the beekeeper chooses. Screws for this are included
